Rupam Raja

Rupam has joined ERM in Delhi, as a Partner and leader of the TS Practice in India. Rupam’s career spans more than 15 years and includes experience in senior management roles with an extensive background in managing multi-disciplinary projects and businesses in various regions around the globe. Most recently, Rupam was Principal at ‘EcoDomain’, engaged in developing sustainability solutions and land planning in India. Till 2012, Rupam was Director, Origination and General Partner at GenPower, a renewable energy/carbon offset venture of First Reserve Corporation, a USD 28 billion energy focused private equity group based in Connecticut, US. Rupam started GenPower’s SE Asia business, grew the company to 15 people and signed an investment pipeline of over 100 projects. In July 2012 the SE Asia asset was successfully sold to Islan Asset Management, an affiliate fund of the Bunge Corporation.  Prior to GenPower, Rupam was Regional Program Manager, SE Asia with AES Climate Solutions where he was responsible for the signing and development of over 25 renewable energy and carbon offset investment projects in Malaysia and Indonesia. Rupam’s diverse experience includes working on supply chain and manufacturing area at Honeywell Aerospace, Goodman Manufacturing and General Motors.  Rupam is a Management Graduate from Thunderbird, AZ, with specialization in International Business. He also has a Master’s Degree in Environmental Planning from Arizona State University, AZ. Rupam is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Six Sigma Green Belt.

Rupam has written on climate change issues for Examiner, an online news site as well as for a number of academic journals. Rupam has a keen interest in history and politics and is passionate about long distance running (having participated in half- marathons in 7 different cities around the world)! Rupam lives in Delhi with his wife Seema, daughter Marjan and son Tanvir. Seema is a practicing Landscape Architect.
