Chief Managing Director, Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA)
Shri K.S. Popli has taken over as Chairman and Managing Director of Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) from 1st March 2014. Sri Popli is an Electrical Engineer from Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi. He also holds Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management and a Degree in Law. He has experience of more than 29 years in power sector. As Director (Technical), he is responsible for project appraisal, financing, policy formulation, planning and monitoring of renewable energy and energy efficiency and conservation projects. Prior to joining IREDA, he worked with Power Finance Corporation for 14 years for both state sector and IPP Projects for Hydro, Thermal, Transmission and Distribution Sectors. He has served NHPC for 11 years and was associated with Design, Engineering and Implementation of Hydro Electric Projects.
